Northern Irish TV presenter Gloria Hunniford has teamed up with Age UK to support national Grandparents' Day this Sunday (October 1), after a recent survey showed 2/5 of the UK's grandparents over the age of 50 provide regular childcare for their grandchildren.

The charity is encouraging people to share picture of their grandparents alongside memories and the hashtag #Grandpics, as well as making a suggested donation of £5. Hunniford commented 'Being a grandparent is such a vital part of my life and I love having a close bond with my grandchildren... Grandparents' Day is all about celebrating those whom we care about in our lives and taking time to recognise how important they are. It’s crucial that we do everything we possibly can to look after our loved ones so do your bit and help support Age UK to help make sure older people can love later life'.
